All Project Minds trainers are fully qualified project management and business analysis practitioners with at least 15 years of practical experience and consulting experience.

Coaching and Mentoring

Project Minds believes that coaching and mentoring is a very effective way of changing behaviour and provides an excellent means of maximising the value of the training. Coaching is a change management technique that enables a desired amount of behavioural change to be absorbed by an organisation. Therefore, coaching can be used as a very effective agent for change on an ongoing basis.

For this purpose we recommend a one day session each month after the training for a defined period. Our experienced coaches will address any issues the project managers or business analysts may be facing and reinforce the learnings from the training.

Project Minds undertakes a four step approach to coaching:

  1. Familiarisation
  2. Preparation for the coaching session
  3. Delivering coaching
  4. Reviewing project deliverables

Project Minds coaches understand the people mix and skill levels of those to be coached and the culture and dynamics of most organisations. In our experience we have found that it is more often the individual personalities of the people being coached that has a bearing on the approach that a coach needs to adopt. We always attempt to make the person being coached feel comfortable with the coach. We understand that to get the most out of the coaching session that the coach must establish a strong rapport with each person being coached in order to gain their trust.

Coaching, whilst teaching people new things, is also asking them to change the way that they work by incorporating those new ideas into their work. The role of the Project Minds coach is not only to impart knowledge, but also to help people see the benefits in adopting new ideas and ways of working giving them a reason to change.
